Create a video short that completes the phrase "Democracy is ...."
AWARD A trip with all expenses paid to Washington, New York and Hollywood. Projected
winning videos in Hollywood, New York and Washington.
Opportunity to meet the film industry and television in the United States, as well as filmmakers.
Meetings with government, media and civil society to defend democracy. CALENDAR
DEADLINE TO ENTER - 31 January 2010, MIDNIGHT (GMT)
The semifinalists will be selected from the March 31, 2010.
An independent jury will select 21 finalists from among the semifinalists from May 15, 2010.
The public will vote online to choose the winning videos May 15 to June 15, 2010. mid-June 2010 will be announced seven winners, one from each of the following regions: Western Hemisphere, Europe, Middle East and North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, South and Central Asia, East Asia-Pacific and a winner anonymous. In the fall of 2010, identified the six winners of each of the geographic regions will travel to the U.S. to receive their prize. DETAILS
Participants must be over 18 to enter.
Videos can be any style: fiction or documentary, animated or live action.
Videos must be no more than three minutes.
Videos must be in English or be subtitled in English.
Contestants may enter anonymously, but anonymous winners can not collect the prize.
